Summer 2008 to present – Majority World CIC Picture Library. Agency representing photographers from the Global South. Photographer Liaison and Assignment Manager for the past year.
December 08 / January 09 - Magnum Photos London - 8 week placement assisting cultural and commercial departments.
Summer 2008 – 6 weeks internship shadowing the Picture Editor and Art Director at GQ magazine in London.
PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE:
Summer 07 - John Birdshall photo Agency – Assistant on shoots. Worked in the office and learnt about the running of an agency.
Summer 07 - Worked with Majority World© Picture Library at the 2007 CEPIC conference in Florence, Italy. Introduced to the marketing and image distribution elements of the industry.
Spring 07 - 1 week work experience at SECLA Ceramics Factory in Portugal. Assisted in the design and distribution department.
Summer 06 - 2 months assisting Capture Ltd.© Photographic Library and Travel Inc. My Work consisted of shadowing members in the library and scanning department making the cross from analogue to digital. Learnt about networking and sales developing a great interest in this area of work.
OTHER INFORMATION:
I am outgoing and ambitious, taking advantage of all of my life experiences. I have lived all over the U.K as well as North America developing a drive for meeting new people, travelling and having new experiences. I undertook a six month Erasmus exchange in my 2nd year of University, studying in Lisbon, Portugal, becoming confident with the use of the Portuguese language. I studied a variety of subjects ranging from glass sculpting to mosaic and photography, alongside continuing my theoretical studies incorporated on my course at Nottingham Trent.
SKILLS:
Competent using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, Scanning, Retouching, black and white and Colour darkroom hand printing. Batch Processing and all metadata areas. Extensive photographic knowledge.
